Definition and Usage
The target property sets or returns the value of the target attribute of a link.
The target attribute specifies where to open the linked document.

Syntax
Return the target property:
anchorObject.target
Set the target property:
anchorObject.target = "_blank|_self|_parent|_top|framename"
Property Values
Value | Description |
---|---|
_blank | Opens the linked document in a new window |
_self | Opens the linked document in the same frame as it was clicked (this is default) |
_parent | Opens the linked document in the parent frameset |
_top | Opens the linked document in the full body of the window |
framename | Opens the linked document in a named frame |
