Description Balmiki Ashram. Balmiki (Sanskrit: वाल्मीकि, vālmīki Panjabi: ਬਾਲਮੀਕਿ ) is a Hindu denomination whose members revere Valmiki as the avatar of God. It is practiced by some Dalit or Harijan communities in the Indian state of Punjab, India and also in Pakistan.
