By the time ovarian cancer is diagnosed, it has usually spread beyond the ovaries. There are often no symptoms until late in the disease process. More thanĀ half of women who get ovarian cancer are diagnosed in the advanced stages of the disease. As with most cancers, the earlier the diagnosis is made, the better the chance for survival.
