Upon successful completion of this unit, you will be able to:

• the central nervous system, and
• the peripheral nervous system;
• identify the primary research domains within the field of neuropsychology;
  
• identify how the biological systems above affect behavior;
  
• describe the behavioral effects of brain injuries;
  
• describe the role of neurotransmitters trans-membrane ion flow either to increase (excitatory) or to decrease (inhibitory) the probability that the cell with which it comes in contact will produce an action potential; and
  
• describe the significance of split brain operations.
